Andrew and Amanda's Place
2025
My youngest of five brothers, Andrew and his wife Amanda recently shifted from the suburbs of Perth to live on a farm in Mt Barker, in the south west corner of WA. This is a massive retirement stage life change, involving adventures with South African Dorper sheep that Andrew describes as obstinate, arrogant and a few other descriptors. But his sense of joy in making the move is wonderful to witness, so I really wanted to mark the moment with this image of their new home set among gum trees and looking out to the edge of wetlands - that I captured in another painting.
