Downpour

This composition is based on a photo that was in the Sydney Morning Herald and was taken by famous photographer Wolter Peeters, whose permission I gained to exhibit and sell the painting. Set outside Central Station, Sydney, probably on a hot rainy summer day, the confluence of energy of the man on the right who is running – perhaps to catch a train and the self-absorbed couple huddled under an umbrella to his left appealed to me.
